Dr. Douglas Boylan is board certified in orthopedic surgery and specializes in sports medicine injuries of the shoulder and knee. He graduated with a medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. He completed his internship and orthopedic surgery residency at the Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. After a successful fellowship in sports medicine at the University of Utah, Dr. Boylan joined Doylestown Orthopaedic Specialists in 1999.
During the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah, Dr. Boylan cared for Olympic athletes as an orthopedic volunteer. He has conducted research on anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction and presented at professional conferences on this subject. Dr. Boylan has conducted numerous community lectures on treatments for knees and shoulders, as well as the prevention and treatment of sports-related injuries.
Dr. Boylan holds professional membership in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, the Pennsylvania Medical Society and the Bucks County Medical Society. |
